A strong trade fair presence requires clear focus.

For Johannes Lühders KG, which has stood for authentic confectionery quality from Hamburg since 1909, the goal at ISM 2026 was clearly defined:

To emphasize the brand's rich heritage while simultaneously providing the perfect stage for innovative snack concepts.

We created a space that stylishly staged the traditional "ginger expertise" just as much as modern vegan novelties—and in doing so, transformed a massive structural challenge into an architectural highlight.

"The Natural Stage for Tradition"

Our guiding principle for this appearance was to design an environment that appeals to all senses and invites visitors to linger.

We demonstrated that good brand architecture does not merely place products on a shelf, but creates a tangible feel-good atmosphere.

The design transformed a demanding spatial situation into a protected retreat where the premium specialties could be tasted undisturbed.

NATURAL MATERIALS AND CLEVER USE OF SPACE

The biggest structural peculiarity of this project was a massive hall office that hovered deep into the stand area.

Instead of fighting against this forced ceiling drop, we deliberately used it for the concept. Right under this overhang, we placed a cozy bar and upholstered seating alcoves.

This created an almost intimate, acoustically calmed tasting lounge—the perfect ambiance to peacefully sample the fine ginger confectionery and the new vegan fruit gummies.

The visual bracket was formed by the consistent use of natural materials, underscoring the manufactory character of Lühders.

High-quality, light-colored solid structural timber, warm slatted walls, and fresh hanging plants provided a lively contrast to the otherwise cool exhibition hall.

A striking presentation stele in an elegant stone look grouped the new products and gave them the perfect premium framework.

At the stand boundary, visitors immediately felt: this is about quality, tradition, and genuine taste.

With this concept, we proved that even complex spatial hurdles can be the foundation for outstanding design.
