A statement of exhibition architecture
The future of the industry lies in sustainability
for the Plastics Trade Fair – trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry,
Düsseldorf
The international plastics trade fair K'19 in Düsseldorf was completely dedicated to sustainability and recyclable solutions within the industry.
On-site, over 3,000 national and international exhibitors addressed the growing challenge by showcasing sustainable and resource-saving packaging and production methods.
A topic that perfectly captures the spirit of the times, as confirmed by over 220,000 visitors to the trade fair.
One of these companies presenting innovative solutions to the professional audience was our client BASF SE.
The chemical giant presented itself at the trade fair under the motto of redefining plastics and questioning the status quo in order to respond to today's sustainable transformation.
Under the premise of being holistic, sustainable, and highly technological, a modern, future-oriented flagship exhibition stand was to be created, representing the world's largest chemical company as an innovation leader and promoter of a sustainable world of plastics.
An exciting and responsible task that the entire Zenit team accomplished with passion and drive.
The central idea of the exhibition stand was to show the professional world that BASF is aware of its role as a global market leader and the resulting responsibility as a pioneer of a sustainable future.
With the "Empowering the future together" campaign, the corporation articulated its ambition as a global solution provider and thought leader in an industry undergoing transformation.
In line with this, the ZENIT team developed a holistic design approach intended to impressively communicate the far-reaching dimensions of reusable plastics and sustainable products.
For this reason, the ZENIT team not only developed an exhibition design taking the company's corporate design into account, but also conceptualized a communication architecture that envisions tomorrow, today.
Guided by this principle, an innovative experience trail of almost 2,000 square meters was created, which intuitively guided visitors and led them through an informative 360° "product avenue" around the stand.
The walk-around was intensified by additional media staging at the individual product stations.
The spacious centerpiece of the unique trade fair appearance was the rounded communication center of the stand, which spanned two levels.
The architectural eye-catchers were two VIP balconies on the wings of the gallery, offering a view over the central communication area of the concept. Another striking design and media highlight was a 22.5-meter-long LED wall, which was suspended in an arc in the center and presented the company's high-resolution brand messages.
Overall, the entire exhibition design was characterized by a rounded design language and referenced the future industry goals of a sustainable circular economy.
